Assignment 04,
Writing Process and Use of Colon and Semicolon Marks
Part A
(1) My attitude toward writing is totally negative. It takes me almost or more than one hour to think for an idea to come into my mind. I do not enjoy writing. When I think about writing it feels like I am confused and my mind stops thinking. I do not feel assured at the time of writing task or assignment. Writing is one of my weakest subject from my earlier days. Especially when it comes to writing assignment of my course, at first I don't know what to write. It takes me more time and energy than other tasks. Sometimes the body paragraph of my essay go off the topic or introductory paragraph of the essay. When I was in school, it has occurred many times. Most of the times I go out of my mind when I start writing. I enjoy more by reading books or magazines than writing. Reading provides me knowledge about different things of the world. Reading books is like passion for me. In my view, I have a lack of creative thinking in my mind, especially when it comes to writing with limitations and boundaries. My feeling about writing have always been negative in my entire life. Even though, I know that I have a lot of things to do to be a good writer in future.
(2) Prewrite: In a writing process, prewriting means the first stage where writer plan about the topic by reading books, by using his/her experience and observations, by asking questions, by drawing pictures or making lists, brainstorming and so on. It can be also called a process where the writer organize his/her thoughts and ideas.
Plan: It is a writing process to develop powerful communications. It starts from the thinking of the writer before he/she begin to write about the purpose of the writing. Normally, in this stage the writer use to make notes or develop an outline to structure for the persuasive writing. It is very important to write any ideas, words, phrases, thoughts and arguments which is appropriate in a message for audience.
Draft: Drafting is the heart in a writing process because it is the actual composing of the text. In this stage the writer put the paper in paragraph form. It is very important for writer to keep in mind about the thesis statement, topic sentences, sufficient support, coherence and unity while drafting an essay. The writer should concentrate his/her mind to put ideas on paper, arranging text logically and expanding the topic with sufficient information to make it easy to understand for audience.
Revise: It is a stage 'to see again' the text after drafting. Revising means to check the thesis statement whether it matches to the essay or not, to add, delete or change details if it is necessary, to check the topic sentence in each paragraph, to find out the smooth transitions in a paragraph and to check the paper to make it in a logical order with sufficient support. It is also necessary to make sure about the proper introduction and conclusion in a paper. A good writer always revise his/her text to see it from the audience's view because the writer is well known about "if drafting is for the writer, revision is for the reader."
Proofread: Proofreading is the last stage of this process. In this stage, a good writer refines his/her writing by looking for tiny mistakes like ungrammatical sentences or misspelled words. A good essay can easily spoil by small errors. Such types of errors can stop by proofreading. Most of the students skip this step. A better way to find out small mistakes that a writer missed is to give his/her essay to his/her friend, family member or tutor for proofreading.

Part C
Answer:
One of the most exciting experiences in my life was travelling to Uruguay in South America; in June of 2005, through the end of August. I stayed with a family of four: mama, papa, Guillermo, and baby. They had an older sister; Michelle she was already married and living with her husband. Papa was a T.V. and a radio announcer. The schools were closed at that time; so the young people spent every day walking around the city and talking about everything we could think of: life, relationships, the future, and religion. One of the most interesting features in the city was el Cerro, which means "the hill." It was the only real hill in Montevideo; at the top we had an amazing view of the city. I brought the following in a picnic for the trip: tortillas, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. Someday I hope to take my own family on a trip like this one.
